About the Filmmakers

Mirepoix Pictures We met through movies; film school and low-budget indie movies where the collective effort builds quick friendships and years later you remember the people more than the shoots. Two things are almost always guaranteed; the chickens’ll be wearing parkas and we’ll do it again tomorrow. Good things can happen when we band together.

By the by… The word Mirepoix comes from French cuisine. It’s a carrot, celery, onion mix used as a base for stews.

Amy Cunningham – Cinematographer

Amy began her career as an actress and model before attending Wright State University’s Motion Picture Production program. She has worked on such films as the PBS documentary THE NEW METROPOLIS and the Emmy winning documentary A LION IN THE HOUSE; the television series THE 1st 48; and music videos for Feist and 3 Doors Down. She currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mike Dittiacur – Writer/Producer

An alumnus of Wright State University’s Motion Picture Production program, Mike currently works as a grip/electric in Cincinnati. His work is featured in such films as SPIDERMAN III, THE BLEEDER, WAITING FOR SUNRISE, KISS OF THE VAMPIRE, and THE RAGE. Mike is pursuing future projects and looks forward to a continued career in filmmaking.

Russ Faust - Writer/Director

Russ attended Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts and the New York Film Academy before beginning his work in film.  An established motion picture freelancer, his credits include hundreds of commercials, music videos and independent features, as well as major Hollywood films including: SEABISCUIT, DREAMER, THE LAST HOLIDAY, WELCOME TO COLLINWOOD, THE ANTWONE FISHER STORY, among others. Currently, Russ is developing a feature length screenplay and writing a short film he plans to shoot in the fall.

John Mays – Producer/Editor

Born and raised in Ohio, Mays has worked on such varied projects as the Sundance hit BLUE CAR (Associate Producer and Key Grip) Emmy Winning Doc. A LION IN THE HOUSE (Sound Designer and Sound Editor) Cult Favorite DEADBEAT AT DAWN (Prod.Manager) this winter’s release TRUE NATURE (Assistant Producer) and the PBS Doc. OREGON STORIES (Producer and Editor). Mays’ work has made him an Ohio independent film fixture.
